 JOB OPENING – PROGRAM MANAGER 

 

The Global Sickle Cell Alliance, Inc. (GLOSCA), a 501c-3 non-profit organization, is seeking a Program manager. As a Program manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and evaluation of our organization’s educational and healthcare programs and initiatives. Your role will involve coordinating with various stakeholders, managing fundraising and project budgets, ensuring program effectiveness, and driving the achievement of organizational goals.
The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for social impact, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of successfully managing programs in the non-profit sector. The program manager does not need to be an expert in SCD, but rather needs to understand the workings of a non-profit human service program.

Minimum Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree ~ Preferred; other certifications and qualifications will be considered.

  • Proven experience (2+ years) in program management, preferably in the non-profit human services sector.
  • understanding the impacts of chronic health conditions as they affect individuals, families, and communities.
 

Job Description and Requirements:

Responsibilities:

  •  Leading the team in the daily activities of designing and managing sickle cell programs.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation
  • Financial management: fundraising and budgeting
  • Outreach, communication, and partnership development with stakeholders
  • Team leadership on capacity building

Technical skills:

  • Prioritizing, monitoring, and ongoing evaluation as needed.
  • Proficient in project management tools (Google Docs, Excel, & Microsoft Suites)
  • Business and proposal writing.
  • Fundraising skills.

Soft Skills:

  • The preferred candidate is expected to be self-motivated, courteous, and people-oriented.
  • The candidate should manage their work and time effectively and supervise others.
  • Good at communication, networking, timelines, negotiation, and presentation.
  • The candidate must be comfortable with handling and resolving conflicts.
Full-time Position (Southwest Nigeria Preferred): Work can be done primarily remotely with occasional travel.

The Global Sickle Cell Alliance, Inc. (GLOSCA), a 501c-3 non-profit organization, is seeking to add to our Board of Directors to guide its mission and development. Board members are responsible for ensuring that GLOSCA fulfills its fiduciary
responsibilities to the organization and are committed to GLOSCA’s mission to serve the sickle cell community globally.
The Board of Directors (BOD), acting as a single entity, is responsible for the activities of the organization. GLOSCA’s BOD members are part of a bigger sickle cell community as members of local, national, and international organizations and committees, and utilize consultation in decision making. The Board of Directors meets quarterly, remotely (Hybrid) and are expected to serve on at least one committee and in other capacities. Board members serve a minimum of three
years as ambassadors of the organization.

nonprofit experiences; interest and/or commitments to SCD, highlight community service, education, administrative, financial, information technology, and fundraising leadership, or other skills. We aim to continue to have a diverse and inclusive board

  • Attend and actively participate in board meetings and assigned committees.
  • Actively serve on at least one committee and take on special assignments.
  • Participate and engage in SCD related events, fundraising activities, and recruiting sponsors and donors.
  • Adhere to professional and ethical policies.
